Scope of Use

ACRYLIC SEALANT (Lag Coating GI3036-UL- AF) is recommended as protective indoor lag coating and finish for insulation materials in combination with reinforcing fabric e.g. canvas cloth on air conditioning ducts (e.g. GI Sheets) and cold water piping in areas where high air humidity and elevated temperatures are present. The bright white, tough, washable and abrasion-resistant indoor coating with excellent antifungus and anti-bacterial properties is developed to resist mold, fungus and mildew growth on its surface and to protect the entire insulation system. Its special formulation meets the requirements for LEED IEQ 4.2 Low-Emitting Materials, Paints and Coatings (VOC: 15 g/l, less water and exempt solvents) and allows the application on polystyrene or polyurethane foam and the application to the joint or edges of fibrous duct liner insulations to seal and prevent air erosion. Together with the excellent application properties, assuring best coverage and uniformly coated surfaces, does ACRYLIC SEALANT (Lag Coating GI3036-UL AF) deliver a long-lasting, highly resistant, washable, neat white and discoloration-free surface coating.at least 5cm. Apply a finish coat at 4 to 5 m² per liter as second coat. It is important, that each coat of ACRYLIC SEALANT (Lag Coating GI3036-UL AF) is fully cured before applying the next coat. Please note that the final dry film thickness may vary with the selected lagging fabric or specifications based project specific requirements.

Cleaning

Application Procedure

Apply a first coat (so called tack coat) of ACRYLIC SEALANT (Lag Coating GI3036-UL-AF) to the insulation material by brush at a rate of 3 to 4 m² per liter. After the application of the first coat, embed the selected lagging fabric into the wet coating. It is recommended to smooth the fabric by hand or brush to avoid any wrinkles. Seams should have an overlap of at least 5cm. Apply a finish coat at 3 to 4 m² per liter as second coat. It is important, that each coat of ACRYLIC SEALANT (Lag Coating GI3036-UL) is fully cured before applying the next coat.
